AI, the future of work? Work of the future! (2019)

This publication has been prepared by Michel Servoz, Senior Adviser on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and the Future of Labour and requested by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. It addresses the question of how Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics and automation are transforming jobs and the economy in Europe.
The paper provides an overview of previous labour market transformations, analyses how automation is changing the economy, looks at the impact of AI and robotics on labour markets and possible implications for education systems and new forms of work.
In its last chapters, the study puts forward the policy recommendations stemming from the analysis.
