Readying adult learners for innovation: Reskilling and upskilling in higher education
A vital role in preparing the present or future workforce for the digital and green transformation is played by Higher Education Institutions. At the end of the bulletin the summary of an international peer-learning workshop hosted by the OECD together with Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation emphasises the importance of policy "sandboxes" for testing upskilling approaches in higher education, fostering collaboration between institutions and industries, and balancing quality with flexibility. It also encourages the development of comprehensive micro-credential systems, leveraging technology for recognition, and the importance of sustainable financial models to support lifelong learning.
