How often do we pay attention to the title of the website we are visiting? Do you know what information it hides? Without the name or domain name, there is no website itself. As a result, hackers are also forced to use various tricks to attract even the most responsible Internet users. Often, it cannot be seen from the appearance and content of the website that it is not reliable, and the only indication of it is its name or domain name. What is a domain and domain name? How is it used by hackers and what you need to know in order not to catch the hooks they discard? All these questions were answered during the webinar by Dana Ludviga, a researcher in computer science at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Latvia (IMCS UL).

The recording of the webinar is available HERE.

To be or not to be online? If anyone ever doubted the need to digitise their business, COVID proved that the answer to this slightly paraphrased Shakespeare’s question is: TO BE! The .LV annual data report proves that every crisis can become a beginning of something new.

In 2021, the total number of .LV domain names increased by 5.7%. Over the full twelve months, 40202 new .LV domain names were registered. The numbers of new registrations were high, particularly, during the first quarter of 2021, but will this lust for digitisation continue at the same rate in 2022? Time will show.
