Digital upskilling, reskilling & finding talent: The role of SME ecosystems (OECD)
Closing the digital skills gap is a key step to evening out the playing field between small and large firms and addressing inequalities within society. SMEs are often unable to access external digital talent or expertise within their ecosystem, or are unaware of how to up-and reskill the existing workforce in an affordable and effective manner. Higher education institutions, governments, large firms and technology practitioners can all contribute to closing the digital skills gap for SMEs.
Registered participants to this D4SME webinar will receive a background note a week before the event, proposing an analysis of how workers and managers of SMEs can re-skill and up-skill effectively to increase their digital capabilities by leveraging the resources of their ecosystem. During the event, participants will be asked to contribute directly to the document by providing their personal feedback and comments to the background note and help shape the policy message. After the event, the OECD will integrate comments and insights in the final document that will contribute to the 2022 D4SME Policy Paper.
