LKDF Forum 2021: Digital Skills for an Inclusive Future

The Learning and Knowledge Development Facility (LKDF) is a project promoted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability.
Focusing on the skills gap in the industrial sector, UNIDO, in collaboration with a number of partners in Europe and worldwide, has launched the LKDF and is currently organising the second LKDF Forum on September 22 to discuss "Digital Skills for an Inclusive Future", and more specifically:
- How can we anticipate skills needs?
- How can businesses innovate inclusively?
- How can digitalization help achieve inclusivity in education?
- How can we serve a changing workforce with diverse needs?
- How can we prove the impact of investments in skilling, reskilling, and upskilling?
- How can we motivate people to learn new skills?
The conference, which will be fully online and will comprise workshops and networking spaces, will focus on how public and private sector partners can work together to reduce the mismatch between supply and demand for skills. The challenge lies in the content and quality of technical training in many countries, as they do not always match the private sector’s demands. The LKDF Forum will therefore provide a unique and diverse platform for the exchange of views on global industrial skills development, identifying issues and trends within the industrial skills development agenda, as well as innovative approaches and solutions, and realizing the fundamental role of industry for promoting growth and inclusivity.
Participation in the LKDF Forum is free.
