Skills for Industry: Upskilling and Reskilling in the Post-Covid Era Fostering New Services and Jobs Creation

The Skills for Industry high-level conference is an online event organised by the European Commisson, exploring how large-scale reskilling and upskilling initiatives can help citizens adapt to the fast-changing labour market. As new technologies emerge, a skilled workforce will facilitate the integration of smart services into daily life, ensuring that the post-Covid recovery is inclusive of all European citizens. A digitally-skilled workforce will also enable Europe's digital transition to take place in a green and sustainable way, following the goals of the European Industrial Strategy to enhance digital leadership whilst moving towards climate neutrality.
This event takes its lead from the Commission's Pact for Skills, aiming to mobilise stakeholders in industry, public services, and education and training, to participate in offering skills development courses to Europeans, supporting the widespread enhancement of their digital skills and subsequently creating more job opportunities.
The agenda for the conference includes keynotes, panels and interactive sessions to engage attendees on the topics of good practices, the role of skills in the workplace, and the impact of EU-wide strategies and digital innovation, among many others. Additionally, speakers come from a range of areas to offer attendees a wide range of perspectives to consider, such as high-level policymakers, industry leaders and training providers.
