This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), offered by European Schoolnet through the European Schoolnet Academy platform, targets the digital competences of teachers in primary and secondary schools and aims to improve their understanding of digital technologies for learning and teaching. Another objective of the MOOC is to support teachers and educators to effectively integrate digital technologies within the classroom and thereby foster digital skills for students from an early age.
This course can be followed by primary and secondary school teachers, regardless of the subject and prerequisite knowledge of digital technologies. No experience or understanding of technology is required. The Digitally Competent Teachers for Creative Digital Students MOOC helps participants to reflect upon their digital skills in the context of lifelong learning and become familiar with digital technology for teaching and learning, through the use of different tools and strategies.
Teachers will gain insight on the main European frameworks for digital competence, like the European Digital Competence Framework for Educators, and discover how to boost digital competence through European projects such as EU Code Week, eTwinning, or SELFIE. Participants will also have an opportunity to further their knowledge when it comes to tools, approaches and strategies for distance learning and remote teaching, as well as tips and advice on online classroom management.
The Digitally Competent Teachers for Creative Digital Students MOOC is free of charge, entirely online, and takes 5 weeks to complete with around 25 total hours of learning time.
