EU Code Week MOOC

The EU Code Week MOOC is a massive open online course, designed by European Schoolnet within the framework of the EU Code Week initiative - a large-scale European initiative, which aims to promote coding for everyone. The MOOC targets teachers from primary and secondary schools, interested in learning more about the different ways, in which they can encourage computational thinking and the development of programming skills in their classrooms.

EU Code Week is a European grassroots initiative, organised in October every year. The initiative and the events in its framework aim at awakening citizens' and especially children’s and teenagers’ interest in coding, computational thinking, robotics, and related digital skills. Millions of participants, including schools, institutions and people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds take part in the initiative each year.
EU Code Week MOOC 2021 edition
EU Code Week Online Bootcamp MOOC is the new online course designed by European Schoolnet in the framework of EU Code Week initiative. The MOOC is designed to help pre-primary, primary and secondary school teachers to bring coding and computational thinking into their classrooms, by providing them with useful resources, practical ideas and tools. The course is organised in 3 modules that participants can follow at their own pace. The MOOC is open to everyone but the main target audience are pre-primary, primary and secondary school teachers from Europe and beyond with an interest in the use of coding and programming in the classroom, regardless of the subject they teach and their knowledge of digital technologies.
Teachers will have the chance to discover the potentials of the use of Artificial Intelligence in education and will be able to experiment with new learning materials, creating new personalised activities. This MOOC is structured following a blended learning approach that provides for on-site study groups, hand in hand with activities carried out online. This will allow teachers to connect with like-minded colleagues and create an active community that will be able to exchange good practices and foster collaboration and teamwork in the classroom.
