SecureHospitals.eu MOOC for Healthcare and Social Care Professionals

This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was developed by the project SecureHospitals.eu, financed through the European Union. Its aim is to support upskilling of professionals across the health and social care sectors, and enable them to face the challenges that increased connectivity brings. The MOOC targets not just healthcare practitioners, but also hospitals themselves with the objective of encouraging healthcare institutions and organisations to invest in upskilling of their existing workforce.
The content of the MOOC
The course offers an overview of the most common cybersecurity-related threats and risks, in the context of more and more connected devices via the Internet of Things (IoT) and explores the type of online attacks launched by hackers in a healthcare context. Topics covered by the course include: data management and storage, personal and sensitive patient data, cloud and network infrastructure and sharing of data, cybersecurity principles and main foundations, and many others.
The MOOC is conducted in an interactive virtual environment and includes an active community, which offers an opportunity to participants who want to discuss, debate, and understand how they can contribute to ensuring a more secure working environment for everyone in healthcare.
