Digital Skills and Jobs Platform

The Wirtschaftsförderung Land Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB) is the economic development agency of the state of Brandenburg. It supports investors, local companies and technology-oriented start-ups in their economic development. The purpose of the company is to improve the economic and social structure of the state of Brandenburg.

Economic and employment promotion from a single source

The WFBB was formed in 2001 from three national companies as a so-called one-stop agency. Since 2014, her area of responsibility includes not only economic development but also support in the areas of skilled workers, employment and qualification.

Among other things, the company advises on company settlements, site expansions and technology developments. Other fields of activity include skilled workers and qualification, energy efficiency and renewable energies as well as the development of international markets.

WFBB bundles its services in seven service packages: Investment, innovation, internationalisation, energy, start-up, skilled workers and sustainability. The services are offered nationwide. In addition to its headquarters in Potsdam, WFBB is represented by regional centers in Brandenburg.

Ownership and financing

The majority owner of WFBB is the state of Brandenburg with 74.93 percent. The three chambers of industry and commerce and the three chambers of crafts in the country each account for 4.18 percent.

The funding is provided by a grant from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection of the State of Brandenburg for institutional support as well as by third-party funding.

WFBB carries out its tasks in accordance with the economic policy guidelines of the State of Brandenburg and combines economic and employment promotion with offers for investment, innovation and the development of companies.
