Cybersecurity Skills Academy welcomes Wavestone as a new pledger!

We are pleased to announce a new pledge with Wavestone through the European Cybersecurity Skills Academy, aiming to connect cybersecurity education with real-world career opportunities. 

By 2030, Wavestone will recruit 5–10 cybersecurity interns from the Network and partner with at least three European higher education and vocational institutions to provide students with hands-on experience, industry-led learning and mentoring. 

Spanning six European countries - France, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland - this pledge represents a concrete investment in Europe’s next generation of cybersecurity talent.  

Bridging the cybersecurity skills gap through providing a real-world experience

1. Offer internships to support the transition from education to employment

Wavestone will recruit 5–10 cybersecurity interns by 2030 through the Industry Academia Network. The opportunity is aimed at cybersecurity students, early-career professionals and career changers who have completed relevant training but need practical experience to enter the workforce.

Interns will be integrated into real client projects under the supervision of senior consultants, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a professional environment. They will also benefit from structured feedback and mentoring, helping them develop both technical and professional skills and supporting their longer-term employability in cybersecurity.

2. Partner with higher education and vocational training providers to align cybersecurity skills with labour market needs

By 2030, Wavestone will establish partnerships with at least three European higher education institutions or vocational education and training providers. These partnerships will create stronger links between education and industry by bringing Wavestone’s expertise into the learning environment.

Through industry-led lectures, workshops and applied learning activities, Wavestone will help students develop skills that reflect current market needs. The company will also provide education providers with feedback on in-demand cybersecurity skills, roles and competences, while promoting internship opportunities that give students valuable exposure to cybersecurity consulting and operations.

Together, the two initiatives will connect learning, practical experience and industry expertise, helping create clearer pathways into cybersecurity careers while supporting education providers in keeping pace with evolving labour market needs.
