Student Council of the University of Latvia - LU SP

The LU SP is an independent, collegial institution elected for one year to represent the rights and interests of students at the University of Latvia. Representatives are elected from all student self-governments of 13 faculties, who make up the Council, the highest decision-making body of the LU SP, which annually elects the chairman from among themselves and, according to the model of the board nominated by the Chairman, heads of the board's directions.
The students who work in the council solve various issues not only about the allocation of budget places, the acclimatization of foreign students and the mentor system but also organize various events for the students of the University of Warsaw (student festival "Aristotelis", Sports games, etc.). By the same token, only within the framework of a separate faculty, student self-governments of the faculty (FSP) also operate, whose opinion is heard by the SP of the LU in meetings, general meetings and at any time in everyday life.
Students who work in student self-governments are united by the desire to be heard, to improve the study process not only for themselves, but also for other students, and to make sure that the student's opinion is taken into account.
