UNESCO
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to build peace through international cooperation in the areas of education, culture, and the sciences. Specifically, UNESCO's programmes aim to support and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals as defined in the Agenda 2030 adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. UNESCO initially started in response to racist and anti-Semitic violence stemming from a world war.
While seventy years have passed since the inception of UNESCO, this mission remains relevant more than ever in today's world. UNESCO aims to develop educational tools to help people live global lives and as global citizens in a world free of hate and intolerance. Additionally, it aims to ensure that all people have access to quality education.
