The University of Granada (UGR) is a Spanish public university based in Granada, with campuses in Granada, Ceuta, and Melilla. With centuries of history, it ranks as the second-best university in Spain and one of the top in Europe. It is the fourth-largest university in Spain based on student enrollment. Established in 1531 by Charles I of Spain and V of Germany, it is considered one of Spain's historic universities. UGR consistently ranks among the top ten universities in Spain and has held the first position in translation and interpretation studies for several years. Globally, it is among the top fifty universities in computer engineering and the top one hundred in mathematics.
