CIG - Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality

The Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) in Portugal is an institution, responsible for the implementation of public policies in the field of citizenship (including digital citizenship), and the promotion of equality between women and men. The public body takes actions to increase civil awareness of the different scenarios in which discrimination could happen, and makes recommendations on addressing them. CIG is also officially mandated to tackle any violence against women, hate crimes, and hate speech.
