FAIRmat is a consortium within the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) that is dedicated to advancing the management of FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) research data in the fields of materials science, condensed-matter physics, and the chemical physics of solids. FAIRmat develops and operates NOMAD, a free, open-source, community-driven data platform for experimental and computational materials research. NOMAD allows researchers to collect, structure, share, and reuse data in standardized, machine-readable formats.
FAIRmat supports the digital transformation of science by integrating data management, analysis, and AI-ready workflows directly into research practices. Through training, tools, and community engagement, FAIRmat empowers researchers and data stewards with the necessary skills to work with high-quality, interoperable data. This promotes collaboration, reproducibility, and innovation across disciplines.
