Cyber Citizen

Cyber Citizen brings cybersecurity into everyday life. The initiative improves the teaching and training of cybersecurity skills across the European Union by utilising research, online education, and gamification. It addresses the cybersecurity skills shortage identified at EU level, helping ensure that everyone in Europe has the skills to stay safe online.

Everyone can develop their cybersecurity skills using the materials in the project’s SecPort learning portal and the Cyber City Tycoon mobile game. Cyber Citizen has also developed a European cybersecurity learning model that enhances cybersecurity measures and promotes common practices across the region.

The Cyber Citizen Initiative has been active since 2022. It has received five million euros in funding from the EU recovery instrument for the first three-year period. Currently it is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications. The initiative is led by the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications and executed by Aalto University.
