Digitaliseringsrådet - Digitalisation Council Sweden

The Swedish Digitalisation Council was established by the Swedish government back in 2011 and since then has provided an advisory function to a variety of ministers, under the leadership of the Swedish Minister for Digitalisation. The Council plays an important role in implementing digital skills and jobs agendas and forward-looking policies, and its general aim is to ensure Sweden can make the most out of the digital transition without leaving anyone behind. 

In addition to its advisory function, the Digitalisation Council is also a forum for strategic discussion between the Government and representatives of different areas of society, both private and public. In May 2023, the mandate of the Digitalisation Council was renewed until 31 December 2026, with the aim of enabling it to continue its work on promoting the implementation of the general digitalisation policy in Sweden and the digitalisation of public administration. Another key function of the Council is gathering and dissemination of knowledge about current trends, recent developments and skills needs and supply. Through its advisory function, the Council is a cornerstone in the Swedish government's strategic work in the area of digitalisation.
