Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Created byGalina MISHEVA|Updated29 June 2021Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit international student organisation, which is founded on the principle of collaboration between students on a global level, under the motto 'Students helping students'.ESN represents international student, providing support through the development of student exchanges, both within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, and outside of it. In addition, the organisation offers a wide range of opportunities to international students with the aim of promoting work and personal development and cultural understanding. Founded in 1989, the Erasmus Student Network today operates in more than 40 countries throughout the world. ESN works on three levels - local, national and international. Sections on local level work directly with international students, organising activities such as cultural and networking events. On a national level, the organisation promotes the needs of international students to national governments, administrations and public institutions. The international level represents the executive body of the organisation, with members of the International Board being full-time volunteers, based in Brussels, Belgium.
