It was founded in 1994 and was the first Vienna institution to be granted university status. Since 2012, she has been a member of the European University Association (EUA) and network partner of the FEEI – Association of Electrical and Electronics Industries.The University of Applied Sciences operates several research institutions and centres focusing on topics such as smart grids, embedded systems, automotive technology and robotics.
