The Open University

The Open University is the United Kingdom's largest university and its leading provider of distance and flexible learning. Founded in 1969, it was built on the principle of open admission: most of its undergraduate courses require no previous qualifications. It teaches across a wide range of disciplines, from computing and technology to health, business and the arts.

Alongside its accredited degree programmes, The Open University publishes free open educational resources through OpenLearn, its open learning platform. OpenLearn hosts hundreds of free courses and thousands of articles, videos and interactive activities, with a substantial catalogue covering digital skills, artificial intelligence, programming and cybersecurity. Most courses award a free digital badge or statement of participation on completion.
