The Faculty of Informatics at Titu Maiorescu University offers a bachelor's degree program in Informatics (6 semester long, worth 180 ECTS credits) and two master's degree programs: Security of Information Systems and Networks and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Both master's programs are 4 semester long and are worth 120 ECTS credits. The Security of Information Systems and Networks program includes 13 specialized courses in information security. Approximately 30 students are enrolled in each course. The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program includes a cybersecurity course, also with around 30 enrolled students. In addition to these master's-level offerings, we also provide a Security of Information Systems course at the bachelor's level, degree in Informatics, which has approximately 100 enrolled students.
We aim to enhance the curricula of our two master's degree programs — Security of Information Systems and Networks and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence — with a particular focus on the Cybersecurity track. Our plans include expanding partnerships with IT companies to organize cybersecurity traineeships and developing additional certification opportunities in the field. These initiatives will provide our students with the chance to engage with leading cybersecurity tools and platforms, gain valuable hands-on experience, and deepen their knowledge in one of the fastest-evolving areas of technology.
As part of our research infrastructure, we have established the CyberX – Center of Excellence in Cloud Cybersecurity, and AI#connect - Academic Center for Artificial Intelligence. Both centers were developed through European-funded projects managed by the Romanian government. Our Faculty has developed partnerships with Ovidius University of Constanta and Danubius University of Galati, Romania, focused on enhancing students' practical skills in cybersecurity through traineeships at the CyberX Center. In addition, we have an ongoing partnership with the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Ovidius University of Constanta for organizing a Cyber Summer School, providing hands-on learning experiences in cutting-edge cybersecurity topics.
