Power Up Net Zero – First Open Call

The project PowerUp NetZero has launched an Open Call for Business Innovation and Technology Adoption Services. The call aims to support SMEs and start-ups in adopting and improving net-zero technologies and related digital solutions, contributing to Europe’s green and digital transition. The programme focuses on five technology areas: solar energy, battery and energy storage, hydrogen technologies, sustainable biogas and biomethane, and carbon capture and storage (CCS). Financial support is provided for external innovation and technology adoption services during the planning and pre-investment phase.

Eligible Activities

  • Technical and economic feasibility studies for the adoption of net-zero technologies

  • Development of technology adoption roadmaps and implementation planning

  • Integration planning and basic engineering services for net-zero solutions

  • Digital services supporting net-zero deployment, including monitoring, predictive maintenance, digital twins and AI-based optimisation

  • Circularity, sustainability, ESG and compliance support linked to net-zero technologies

  • Go-to-market, scaling and technology scouting services supporting commercial deployment of net-zero solutions

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be single SME or start-ups established in an EU Member State or a country participating in the Single Market Programme

  2. Applicants must have at least one closed and validated financial year.

  3. Applications must include a quotation from the selected service provider, an activities timeline with budget and KPIs, a signed Declaration of Honour, and an SME Financial Viability Self-Check.

Funding

  • Maximum grant per beneficiary (lump sum): 20 000 EUR

  • Total budget for the call: 380 000 EUR

  • At least 19 SMEs or start-ups will be supported

  • The grant may cover up to 80% of eligible costs

Timeline

The deadline to submit applications is set to 30 July 2026, 17:00 Brussels time.
