The digital and green transitions were discussed in Bratislava
Conference room in Sheraton Hotel during a conference on digital and green transitions in Bratislava

How to manage the transition to green technologies and digital solutions without unnecessary chaos ?

This was the focus of the expert conference organised by the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatisation of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Digital Coalition. The conference took place on the 22nd of May 2025 in the Sheraton Hotel, in Bratislava. Discussions and presentations sought answers to the challenges that technological and environmental progress poses to both the public and private sectors, while also showing what opportunities it opens up.

“Digitalisation and artificial intelligence are no longer just technical concepts or tools to make work more efficient. They are increasingly influencing the way we live and work and have a direct impact on the direction of society as a whole. Slovakia can only successfully manage this digital transformation if we create clear legislative rules, strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors and develop people’s digital and green skills across regions in a targeted manner. Only in this way will we be able to build a modern, inclusive and resilient digital ecosystem that will ensure prosperity and quality of life for current and future generations," said Radoslav Štefánek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation of the Slovak Republic.

The Digital Future project

A support to adapt to changing market requirements

The conference is part of the Digital Future project, whose basis is the identification of the level of so-called digital and green skills in individual professions, the diagnosis of the readiness of employees and the subsequent development of their competencies so that they can flexibly respond to changing market requirements.

The Digital Future project provides a unique opportunity for top managers, representatives of municipalities and public institutions to get practical information on how to successfully manage the digital transformation. These are the leaders who play a key role in developing the new skills needed in the digital era.

“Senior managers are key agents of change. That is why we are giving them concrete tools and recommendations on how to identify the level of digital and green skills in their organisations and how to kick-start their own transformation process," said Mário Lelovský, President of the Digital Coalition.

A series of informative and advisory conferences

The first step is a series of conferences that will take place in all regional cities of Slovakia. The programme includes not only a presentation of the Digital Future project itself, but also expert workshops on topical topics such as:

• Innovative industry for the 21st century;

• Energy for innovative industry and the public sector;

• Data for the digital and green transition of Slovakia.

Participants will learn why the digital and green transitions are essential to reduce costs and increase competitiveness. Expert consultants will also be available to advise on how to efficiently start your own transformation process.

The panel will discuss topics such as ESG, education for the modern labour market or forms of support from the region and the state. More information about the Digital Future project can be found here.
