Digital signing of PDFs via ROeID Created byDSJP Romania|Updated12 March 2026The Authority for the Digitalisation of Romania (ADR) recently announced the launch of a new functionality in the ROeID application, which allows the digital signature of documents in PDF format.Sign PDFs with Your Electronic IDThe user must have an NFC-compatible phone (e.g. phones that allow card payment have this technology) and an Electronic Identity Card (EIC).The PDF signature interface can be accessed via the notice on the first page, respectively from the Settings page. On the screen that opens, the user must make sure that the phone's NFC function is enabled, upload the PDF they want to sign, and then fill in some information from the EIC. The ID card will need to be close to the NFC reader of the device for reading digital certificates.The signed PDF obtained in this way can be downloaded and forwarded through other applications.ROePAS Goes LiveADR has also launched ROePAS, a new digital platform serving as a single access point for electronic public services, integrated with the EU's Single Digital Gateway and the "Your Europe" portal. The platform migrates over 5,000 procedures from the former PCUe portal, ensuring continuity of existing services, while introducing streamlined workflows, cross-border document exchange, and authentication via ROeID and eIDAS.You can find more details here.
