European Digital Skills Awards 2026 close with strong participation from across Europe Created byRosemary Sheridan|UpdatedagoFollowing on the success of the past three editions, this year's call attracted 220 applications, reflecting the momentum behind digital skills initiatives in Europe.The applications in numbersAs in previous years, the most popular category was Digital Skills for Education, with 90 applications. Next was Inclusion in the Digital World with 64, followed by Digital Upskilling @ Work, which had 32 applications. Rounding out the groups, 21 inspiring projects stepped forward for recognition for work in Women in ICT Careers and 13 in Cybersecurity Skills. When it comes to national engagement, Spain leads the way again with 39 applications, highlighting its strong commitment to building Europe’s digital capacity. Greece follows with 31, while Portugal and Germany also stand out for their active participation, with 25 and 24 applications, respectively.The Digital Skills and Jobs Platform is delighted to see such a wide range of projects aiming to increase digital skills, promote digital inclusion, and prepare Europe’s workforce for the digital age.
