Cybersecurity standards based on European Cybersecurity Skills Framework Role Profiles developed by ENISA have been approved. Vocational education and training level training programs are provided in two Latvian schools - Jēkabpils Technical School of Technology and Saldus Technical School. Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences offers bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Companies and public authorities are investing huge resources to protect their data, but hackers are constantly developing new methods, so today’s challenge – to be one step ahead – is to learn, explore, research, analyse, discuss.

To promote cybersecurity profession in Latvia, experts discussed challenges and opportunities:

  • Ilze Dubova, Deputy Director of Jēkabpils Technical School of Technology in the field of education and training. Interested in technological solutions in education and is about tomorrow's education, where there are skills, knowledge and competences.
  • Kristaps Felzenbergs, Director of the Cybersecurity Engineering Master Study Programme at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, entrepreneur and technology enthusiast. At the same time, he runs his own company in this field.
  • Daina Ozoliņa,LVtraining coordinator. For more than 10 years, he has been working in the field of defence and security with media, information environment analysis and cybersecurity issues, with a particular focus on improving public education and training. Before joining the CERT.LV team, Daina worked at the Ministry of Defence and NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence.
  • Ingrīda Lazdāne, educational methodologist at Saldus Technical School. A teacher ready for new challenges.

Recording of the online seminar. The target audience is young people, especially 9th grade students, and teachers.
