The Greek delegation won a silver medal at the World Robot Olympiad 2025 and the 1st place in Europe, confirming once again the country's dynamics in the field of educational robotics and innovation. More than 560 teams from 87 countries participated in this year's World Robotics Olympiad on "The Robots Allies of the Earth".

One medal and two distinctions for Greek teams

The silver medal was awarded to the Project A.R.E.S team in the Future Innovators category of Gymnasium, where Greek students presented an autonomous robotic exploration vehicle with artificial intelligence, which maps the environment and collects critical data for the sustainability of the human presence. In total, the Greek teams won 1 medal and 2 distinctions.

The performance of the Greek teams

– In the RoboMission (Elementary, Junior, Senior) category, Greek teams finished with remarkable scores, showing consistency and technical excellence; 
– In the category Future Innovators (Junior), the Greek team presented innovative ideas with a social impact, strengthening the image of our country as a cradle of creativity and technological innovation;
– In the Future Engineers category, the Viva La Vida team made an excellent effort and ranked among the 20 best teams in the world;
– In the RoboSports category, the bitLab team gave a dynamic presence, with high-intensity and strategic matches, reaching the 8 best in the world.

A positive sign for STEM level in the country

The presence of Greece in the WRO World Final highlights the level of STEM in the country, driven by an annual Panhellenic competition that provides the pathway to international qualification. It also enhances the extroversion of students who come into contact with peers from all over the world. Finally, it promotes Greek innovation internationally and allows know-how exchange.
