The University of Cyprus's MSc Artificial Intelligence is part of the Master programmes in Artificial Intelligence 4 Careers in Europe (MAI4CAREU). One of Master's programme's courses, MAI612 - Machine Learning is split up into several lectures. Taught by Vassilis Vassiliades, PhD, the sixteenth lecture of the MAI612 - Machine Learning course focuses on an Introduction to Reinforcement Learning.

Learning outcomes

The lecture will begin with a brief revision of content from previous lecture. Then, using case study examples, visuals to accompany theoretical concepts, participants will understand:

• What reinforcement learning (RL) is and how it differs from other types of machine learning
• How to formalise the RL problem
• The different agent components and agent categories
• The different applications of RL

In addition, the lecture will provide students with resources for further information on Reinforcement Learning.
