The Cyber Security Coalition Created byJuliette Chalant Devlesaver|Updated17 July 2024The Cyber Security Coalition is a Belgium-based collaboration between over 100 actors from the academic world, public sector, and private sector to fight cybercrime and raise awareness on cyber threats.Coalition members and strategic focus areasCoordinated by the Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique, Belgacom, ULB, and KU Leuven, the Coalition’s mission is to strengthen Belgium’s cyber security resilience by building a strong national network of actors working in cyber security. Members from the 3 sectors (academic, public, private) bring together their expertise and skills on this platform aiming to foster exchange of information and practical actions. Other members of the coalition also includes Enabel, the European Commission, Febelfin, EY, and Ghent University. The Coalition is split into focus groups that work on 4 strategic areas:Experience sharing (knowledge, best practices, threats, and opportunities)Operational collaboration (peer-to-peer collaboration within a trusted community)Policy recommendations Awareness raising (amongst citizens and organisations)Platform resourcesThe platform includes a wide range of resources on cybersecurity in different formats. The Coalition shares awareness tools (for example, an Interactive Cyber Security E-Learning via Kahoot), guides (for example, the Cyber Security Guide for SME) and organises campaigns on a variety of different cyber topics including: phishing, hacking, data protection, and digital health. The platform also includes blogs, webcasts, white papers, and podcasts covering news, issues and projects from the cyber security landscape both nationally and internationally.
