CyberAware Europe – Cybersecurity Awareness and Threat Prevention

Cybersecurity certificate programmes from CyberSecure Academy prepare learners for roles such as cybersecurity analyst, SOC technician and penetration tester. The online programmes combine lectures, virtual labs and proctored exams, from foundation to advanced level.

CyberSecure Academy, established in 2025, offers online cybersecurity certificate programmes for people who want to start or advance a career in the field. According to the provider, its courses are aligned with the US National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) framework and are delivered in partnership with accredited certification bodies.

Cybersecurity Foundations Certificate (entry to mid-level)

This programme builds core security knowledge and prepares learners for roles such as cybersecurity analyst, SOC technician, threat detection specialist and system security administrator. The curriculum includes:

  • fundamentals of cybersecurity and information security
  • computer networks and IT fundamentals
  • network and endpoint security
  • cryptography
  • digital forensic investigation
  • threat detection and monitoring, IDS/IPS systems and SIEM solutions
  • ethical hacking, penetration testing and Kali Linux

The programme is delivered online through lectures, virtual labs and computer-assisted instruction, and takes on average 6 to 12 months to complete.

Offensive Security Certificate (advanced level)

This programme focuses on ethical hacking and penetration testing, including vulnerability assessment, exploit development, web application and wireless security, social engineering in an ethical context, and red team operations. It includes hands-on labs in controlled environments and prepares learners for industry certifications such as CEH and OSCP. Possible career paths include penetration tester, ethical hacker, red team operator and vulnerability analyst.

Curriculum structure

The programmes follow a 12-module sequence, from foundational to advanced topics:

  1. Introduction to cybersecurity
  2. Networking fundamentals
  3. Operating systems security
  4. Threats and vulnerabilities
  5. Risk management
  6. Security operations
  7. Incident response
  8. Ethical hacking basics
  9. Cloud security
  10. Compliance and governance
  11. Capstone project
  12. Final assessment

Conditions of participation

  • Cost: the programmes are paid. Learners purchase training vouchers, certification seats and lab access, which are generally non-refundable, except for the 14-day right of withdrawal for buyers in the EU/EEA and UK, provided the voucher has not been activated.
  • Registration: identity verification (KYC) is mandatory to enrol.
  • Exams: all examinations are proctored, and screen activity is monitored and recorded. A score of at least 70% is required to obtain a certificate.

Topology of competences

Network and endpoint security; threat detection and monitoring; incident response; digital forensics; cryptography; risk management and compliance; ethical hacking and penetration testing; cloud security.

Methodology

The programmes are delivered online through recorded or live lectures, virtual labs and computer-assisted instruction. Learners apply their knowledge in hands-on simulations of real-world scenarios in controlled environments, and complete a capstone project integrating the skills acquired across the 12-module curriculum. Progress is assessed through a final proctored examination, during which screen activity is monitored and recorded; a minimum score of 70% is required to obtain the certificate. The Foundations Certificate takes on average 6 to 12 months to complete, and instruction is measured in clock hours rather than credit hours.
