Advanced Operating Systems Management, Database Optimization (CYBER PRO TRAIN)

Start Date
28.April.2026
End date
30.Apr.2026

This module is designed to equip participants with advanced skills in managing operating systems by teaching techniques for automating administrative tasks, optimizing system performance, configuring services and processes securely, and integrating security and reliability best practices across Windows and Linux environments.

Moreover, this module focuses on improving the efficiency of relational database systems. Participants will learn how queries are executed, how indexes and optimizers influence performance, and how to interpret and address common performance issues. Oracle is used as a practical reference to illustrate industry-standard optimization mechanisms.

Main Objectives

For the first part: Advanced Management of Operating Systems

  • Establish a clear understanding of how advanced operating system management impacts enterprise security and compliance with frameworks such as CIS and NIST.
  • Develop the ability to securely automate administrative tasks in Windows and Linux, minimizing risks, controlling credentials, and hardening remote administration channels.
  • Learn to interpret system performance from a security perspective to detect anomalies, malware, and resource abuse in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Configure and harden services and processes across both operating systems, applying principles of minimal exposure, isolation, and operational resilience.
  • Apply continuous hardening practices through automation, privilege control, change management, and telemetry integrated with security tools.

For the second Part: Database Optimization

  • Understand how relational databases process and execute queries.
  • Identify key factors that impact performance at the SQL and schema level.
  • Learn the role and structure of indexes and their practical effects.
  • Analyse and interpret execution plans.
  • Understand the Oracle cost-based optimiser.
  • Apply basic techniques to optimise data access and query execution.

Outcomes

The course issues an open badge with the acquired skills.

By completing this module, participants will:

  • Gain a solid understanding of secure and compliant operating system management, including automation, hardening, and performance monitoring across Windows and Linux.
  • Strengthen their ability to detect security anomalies and apply continuous protection measures through privilege control, configuration management, and system telemetry.
  • Develop a foundational competence in database performance optimization, including how queries are executed, how indexes influence efficiency, and how to interpret execution plans.
  • Understand the key principles behind the Oracle cost‑based optimizer and apply basic techniques to improve data access and query execution.
