AI Literacy for Employees (Article 4 of the EU AI Act)

This course provides employees with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to use artificial intelligence tools safely, responsibly and effectively in everyday work. It is designed for organisations that need to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among their staff in line with Article 4 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689)

About this course

The course is intended for non-technical staff and requires no prior knowledge of AI or programming. It is designed by Dataswans Academy, a certified educational institution registered by the Slovak Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth. 

Course modules

  • What AI is and how it works: fundamentals for non-technical users; 
  • Approved and unapproved tools: shadow AI and its risks; 
  • What may and may not be entered into AI tools: personal data, trade secrets and client data; 
  • Practical use of AI in everyday tasks: emails, documents and analyses; 
  • Limits of AI: hallucinations, verification of outputs and human responsibility; 
  • Labelling of AI-generated content

Format

The course can be structured as a 2-hour webinar, full-day workshop, e-learning, or an annual programme with regular updates. Content can be adapted to the sector and tools used by the organisation.

Assessment and certification

Participants complete a knowledge check and receive a certificate of completion. Organisations receive a record of the content and scope of the training for audit purposes.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, participants are able to explain the basic principles and limitations of AI tools, distinguish between approved and unapproved tools, identify which information must not be shared with AI systems, verify AI-generated outputs before using them, and apply AI tools to routine work tasks in a safe and compliant way.
