Digital technologies play a central role in how children and young people learn, communicate and engage with the world. While these technologies offer significant opportunities for creativity, collaboration and access to knowledge, they also present important challenges linked to safety, balance and responsible use.

The MOOC Digital well-being by design: A whole-school approach, based on the findings and outputs of the digi.well project, supports educators and school leaders in embedding digital well-being across school culture, leadership and practice.

Through the course, participants will explore both the opportunities and challenges of digital life and learn how to make digital well-being a foundational principle within their school community. The MOOC guides participants from raising awareness and building a shared understanding of digital well-being to implementing practical strategies and sustainable whole-school approaches.

Participants will:

  • explore evidence-informed approaches and practical digi.well tools
  • examine the role, opportunities and ethical implications of AI
  • assess current school practices and identify areas for improvement
  • develop a realistic and structured action plan tailored to their own school context

This MOOC is ideal for teachers, school leaders and educators who want to create healthier, safer and more balanced digital environments where technology positively supports learning, relationships and well-being.
