Developed within the scope of the TRUST-FOOD project, this course dives straight to the point and into the environmental and social impact of blockchain implementation in the food supply chain. The TRUST-FOOD project, funded by the DIGITAL Europe Programme of the European Union, aims to create and deliver a range of short-term training courses for upskilling and reskilling of the labour force, with a particular focus on SMEs owners, managers, and employees in the Food Supply Chain sector - all with the objective of bridging the digital divide. The course “Ethical Considerations and Governance in Blockchain-enabled Food Supply Chains” is designed to present the interplay of ethics, governance, and technology in the context of agri-food and food supply chains. It aims to equip participants with the skills to analyse and address the ethical implications of using blockchain in food supply chains, including issues related to fair trade, organic labelling, and animal welfare. Additionally, the course focuses on understanding the governance structures and decision-making processes necessary for the effective management of these supply chains.
