Google Digital Workshops

The Digital Workshops programme by Google is an international initiative, which aims to improve the overall digital competence for citizens throughout the world, with a special focus on work skills, as well as the digital skills required to work in specific sectors. In Europe, the programme involves a wide range of partners - local and regional municipalities, national governments, private business and training centres and providers, to offer a series of workshops and a database of free courses. 

Main audience and type of trainings 

Digital Workshops targets students, young professionals and experienced employees in sectors outside of technology through a flexible approach, in which participants can progress independently and learn at their own pace. The programme also offers blended and face-to-face workshops, organised regularly in different countries. Trainings in the database include courses on digital, online privacy and safety skills, digital training masterclasses, or opportunities to understand the impact of digitalisation on services across industry sectors. 

Digital Workshops has set up a variety of upskilling initiatives and training programmes throughout Europe, such as: setting up permanent training centres in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, establishing a partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce with the aim of ensuring a digitally competent workforce for small business, and launching training hubs in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Brussels.
