EPAM Campus is offering a free Java Development programme for Ukrainian citizens who already know Java Core and want to learn how to build modern web applications.

About the programme

The programme helps participants deepen their Java knowledge and master the Spring Framework. It also covers architectural approaches, databases, network technologies and development tools.

The programme includes two practical modules on AI, which teach participants not only to generate code with AI but to use it consciously in their daily work as Java developers. Participants learn to write effective prompts, validate AI-generated code, and use AI for code review, unit testing and refactoring while meeting security and quality standards.

Topics covered

  • Using AI to write and validate code
  • Testing and development tools
  • Data formats
  • Fundamentals of software design and architecture
  • Databases and data storage
  • Network technologies and web development in Java

Format

The training is delivered online in English over 17 weeks, with an estimated workload of 12–15 hours per week. Participants attend introductory webinars once or twice a week, complete regular practical assignments and receive support from EPAM trainers.

Requirements

Applicants need knowledge of:

  • Using AI for coding: prompts, review and validation
  • Testing and development tools
  • Data formats
  • Fundamentals of software design and architecture
  • Databases and persistence
  • Networking and Java web development
  • Spring Framework fundamentals
  • AI tools for Java developers

An English level of B1 or higher is required. Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is an advantage.

Selection process

Applicants need to register on the EPAM Campus website using a personal email address and then complete the assessment from their account.

The selection includes an English test, a theory test and a practical Java task, taking about 5.5 hours in total. Candidates with the best results are invited to join the programme.

The programme is open to Ukrainian citizens currently living in Ukraine. Current EPAM Campus participants and EPAM employees are not eligible.

Places are limited, and the start date may change; applicants are advised to check the programme page for updates.

After the programme

The best graduates may be invited to the Java Laboratory to continue preparing for a Junior Java Developer role at EPAM. Further progress depends on learning outcomes, skill level and the availability of suitable positions.
