Measuring the impact of open data is a training program by the data.europa academy that helps you learn how to evaluate the success of open data initiatives and measure their impact on innovation and growth. This course covers impact assessment frameworks, selecting appropriate metrics and indicators, data analysis and visualization, and case studies of successful open data initiatives in Europe. 

Course description

The course is designed for beginners and is perfect for academia, civil servants, data providers, and non-governmental organizations who want to make an impact with open data. It consists of five lessons that include webinars, reading materials, and videos, and will cover the following topics:

• Achieving impact with open data initiatives: discover why open data impact is so important and how to achieve impact through open data projects or initiatives.
• Measuring open data impact in Europe: learn about the different methods used to measure open data impact in Europe and assess the different measurement approaches across European institutions.
• Open data best practices and monitoring use cases: explore the impact of open data reuse on government, society, environment, and economy through webinars and examples of European open data and best practices.
• Understanding public data demand in the public sector: understand the value of open data in the public sector and how public administrations are measuring the demand for data reuse.
• Stories from the Use Case Observatory: discover ways of monitoring and evaluating the impact of open data reuse through our Use Case Observatory research and learn about interesting use cases of open data-driven solutions.
