Teaching occurs across autumn, spring, and summer semesters, integrating classroom learning with clinical placements and research. Year 1 focuses on foundational physiotherapy knowledge, including anatomy, respiratory, neurological and cardiovascular physiotherapy, alongside research methods and initial clinical placement experience. Year 2 emphasises advanced clinical practice, integrating learning across complex and multisystem cases, leadership and innovation in healthcare, and completion of a research project aligned with professional interests. Across the programme, students undertake extensive supervised clinical placements and develop skills through lectures, workshops, experiential learning, and reflective practice.Objective Develop the clinical reasoning and practical skills needed to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of conditions across musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.Learn to apply evidence-based physiotherapy techniques to support patient rehabilitation, pain management, and mobility improvement.Build leadership and teamwork skills, preparing you to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Eligible students: Applicants who meet the University of Limerick’s postgraduate entry requirements, including a relevant honours bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent), and who wish to pursue a professional career in physiotherapy.
