The programme is designed for working professionals, with flexible delivery including evening lectures and recorded content.Students complete three modules including two core modules and one independent learning module. Teaching is delivered across autumn and spring semesters and integrates lectures, workshops, hands-on activities, reflective practice, guided research, and continuous feedback.In the autumn semester, students undertake the core module Sustainable Wheelchair Provision, which introduces key principles of wheelchair service delivery across the lifespan, alongside an elective independent learning module that allows students to explore a topic relevant to their professional practice.In the spring semester, students complete the core module Providing Posture Seating and Wheelchair Mobility Across the Life Course, focusing on the assessment and management of postural care and assistive technologies, including advanced training in complex seating provision. A second independent learning module further supports application of knowledge to real-world practice. The programme emphasises integration of theory, research, and clinical practice, supporting students to develop advanced skills in clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention for individuals with complex seating and mobility needs.Eligible studentsApplicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) with a minimum second-class honours (2:2) in a relevant discipline, such as a health and social care profession. Applicants should be practising healthcare professionals or clinical engineers with relevant experience and interest in wheelchair and seating provision.
