System Development Life Cycle: Analysis & Design (MERIT)

"System Development Life Cycle: Analysis & Design" is an online course, developed in the framework of the EU-backed MERIT initiative. MERIT, which is funded by the Digital Europe Programme of the European Union, consolidates Europe's best minds in cutting-edge technologies to create a highly skilled workforce. 

The aim of the MERIT project is to create an educational ecosystem for training digital specialists by bringing together universities, industry partners, research centres, and technology organisations. MERIT focuses on the design of a joint Master's programme that addresses the market needs in Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Cybersecurity to boost the number of specialists in these areas. 

About this course

The system development lifecycle requires planning, constructing, testing, and deploying a system. 

This course takes a deep dive into the steps necessary to 1) synthesise systems and 2) analyse them from a systems engineering perspective. More specifically, the course is much more than a simple overview of the particularities of individual parts of system development: rather, it delves into the concepts required to architect a holistic system by soliciting requirements from stakeholders, modelling desired behaviours that adhere to such requirements, and connecting these analysis methods with the synthesis of a realisable system to deploy.
