Technical University of Denmark Master of Science in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is characterised by its constant changes and requires engineers unconstrained by new technologies and with strong technical competencies to develop new types of interaction between people and software. 

This can be seen in game design, the personalisation of media content, or smartphone apps using sensors to model how environments are perceived. This degree aims to provide students with a deep understanding of the underlying digital media technologies and related business aspects.

Curriculum

This Technical University of Denmark (DTU) programme allows students to choose a focus area to specialise in. The specialisation options are:

• AI and Cognition
• Machine Learning at Scale
• Social Media, Mobile Apps and Data Science
• User Experience / Mobile Health / Personal Informatics
• Computer Vision and Computer Graphics
• Computer Games

DTU encourages students to work on their own projects and take part in ongoing DTU research projects over the course of this degree. Alongside this, students are encouraged to take part in DTU's entrepreneurial activities to transform projects into start-ups.

To obtain the degree, the student must fulfil the following requirements:

• Have passed Polytechnical foundation courses adding up to at least 10 ECTS
• Have passed Programme-specific courses adding up to at least 50 ECTS
• Have performed a Master Thesis of 30 ECTS points within the field of the general program
• Have passed a sufficient number of Elective courses to bring the total number of ECTS of the entire study to 120 ECTS

Technological specialisation courses will differ based on the student's selection. Alongside these courses, students must complete a Master Thesis.

Requirements

For applicants who have received a Bachelor's degree in Denmark it is required to hold a degree in cyber technology, AI and data, software technology, electrical engineering or mathematics and technology. Applicants may be required to take extra courses to bolster their knowledge prior to starting the MSc in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence programme.

For international applicants who have a Bachelor's degree from outside Denmark it is required to hold a Bachelor of Science in a relevant area. Applicants must have mastered at least one programming language, have solid skills in engineering and maths and a strong interest in the technologies underpinning web and social interaction, computer graphics, data science, machine learning or human-centred computing.
