Wireless security - Cyberpro Train Created byValerio Roscani|Updated13 January 2026Start Date10.February.2026End date12.Feb.2026OnlineWireless network security requires understanding WLAN fundamentals, including Wi-Fi standards, infrastructure vs. ad-hoc modes, and the vulnerabilities inherent to wireless communication. Common threats such as sniffing, spoofing, rogue APs, evil twins, brute-force attempts, and deauthentication attacks highlight the need for layered defenses involving encryption, authentication, MAC filtering, disabling WPS, and proper SSID management. Protecting mobile and IoT devices further strengthens the ecosystem through MDM solutions, device encryption, certificate-based Wi-Fi access, and DLP controls, while addressing IoT risks like default credentials, lack of updates, and unencrypted communications. Advanced WLAN hardening practices—SSID hiding, WPS and remote management deactivation, VLAN segmentation, RADIUS/WPA2-Enterprise, and physical AP security—help minimize attack surfaces. Finally, wireless intrusion detection and prevention systems (WIDS/WIPS), using tools such as Kismet, Aircrack-ng, Wireshark, and enterprise platforms, enable continuous monitoring, threat detection, alerts, and automated responses integrated with network infrastructure and SIEM solutions..Main objectivesThe main objectives of this course are toUnderstand WLAN architecture, standards, and inherent wireless security challenges.Identify and mitigate common wireless network threats and attack techniques.Apply mobile and IoT device security through MDM, encryption, and access controls.Implement advanced WLAN hardening measures using network segmentation, certificates, and identity-based controls.Detect and respond to wireless attacks using WIDS/WIPS and monitoring tools.OutcomesUpon completions will be able toLearners will configure secure wireless networks using best practices and layered defences.Learners will protect mobile and IoT environments against unauthorized access and data leakage.Learners will implement hardened wireless infrastructures with minimized exposure and segmented traffic.Learners will identify wireless attack indicators and effectively use detection and monitoring tools.Learners will enhance organizational security by applying automated alerts, integrated responses, and continuous threat monitoring.TargetProfessionals, including SME employees and Public Administration staff, looking to enhance their cybersecurity knowledge Dates10 Feb 2026 – Italian (09:00 - 17:00) (GMT+1)11 FEB 2026 – Greek (09:00 - 17:00) (GMT+2)12 FEB 2026 – Spanish (09:00 - 17:00) (GMT+1)ProgramThe program of the course contains tools to Understand the fundamentals of wireless network securityProtect mobile and IoT devices.Implement advanced security measures in wireless networks.Detect and mitigate wireless attacks.Additional resources (individual study)Wireless Security - Official Wireless & Wi-Fi Security StandardsWi-Fi Alliance – WPA2/WPA3 SpecificationsNIST Wireless Security Guide (SP 800-153)FCC Consumer Cybersecurity (Home Wi-Fi)Mobile & IoT SecurityNIST IoT Security Baseline (SP 800-213)ENISA IoT Security RecommendationsLabs & Wireless AttacksTryHackMe – Wireless Security LabsA Security Site – WLAN & Authentication LabsPassword Security & Auditing ToolsHaveIBeenPwned – Password Breach CheckPassword Strength TestingTraining Offer DetailsWebsite linkWireless security - Cyberpro TrainDigital technology / specialisationCybersecurityTraining opportunitiesCourseLearning EffortFull timeSelf-pacedNoDigital skill levelBasicProvider OrganisationCyberPro TrainGeographic scope - CountryAustriaBelgiumBulgariaCyprusRomaniaSloveniaCroatiaCzech republicDenmarkEstoniaFinlandFranceGermanyGreeceHungaryItalyIrelandMaltaLatviaLithuaniaLuxembourgNetherlandsPortugalPolandSwedenSpainSlovakiaShow moreShow lessTarget languageGreekItalianSpanishIs this course freeYesCredential offeredGenericType of fundingDIGITAL ADS SO4PrerequisitesNoUpcoming courseNo Share this page Log in to comment
