Introduction to security policies and procedures (CYRUS)

This training provides a comprehensive understanding of security frameworks and their role in protecting sensitive data, mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). Participants will learn how to develop, implement and enforce security policies to enhance an organisation’s security posture and maintain business continuity.

Designed within the scope of the CYRUS project, this course covers key security components such as access control, data classification, incident response and password management. It is designed for IT professionals, system administrators, employees and students looking to improve security awareness and governance within their environments.  

Upon completing this training, participants will:

  • Understand the role of security policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement effective security policies
  • Ensure employee compliance with security frameworks

The training is free of charge and offered as self-paced e-learning available on demand from April 2025 to October 2025 with a duration of approximately 1 hour.
