Associação Portuguesa para a Diversidade e Inclusão (APPDI)

The Portuguese Association for Diversity and Inclusion (APPDI) is a non-profit organization and its mission is to promote diversity and inclusion (D&I) in various organizations and in the Portuguese society in general.

APPDI promotes initiatives such as the Portuguese Diversity Charter (which it manages and coordinates), the Engenheiras Por Um Dia Program (Engineers For A Day in English, funded by the State Secretary of Citizenship and Equality which pretends to build awareness on the STEM career options for female students under 18 years-old) and the Diverses and Active Project (which promotes diversity and tolerance, combating discrimination in the field of work with human resources professionals and labor inclusion professionals).

Since its launch in March 2016, the Portuguese Diversity Charter, an initiative of the European Commission, has aimed to put the European Union's strategy into practice, helping the implementation and development of internal policies and practices for the promotion of Diversity in the workplace, as one of the voluntary instruments created with the aim of encouraging employers to implement and develop internal policies and practices to promote diversity. The PDC has, as of today, a network of more than 400 signatories.
