The Austrian Armed Forces Language Institute (AAF LI) is a language provider in teaching, training, translating, testing and interpreting for the Austrian Armed Forces and other Austrian federal agencies/organizations, which includes terminology work as a foundation of high quality products. Its mission is to ensure the language interoperability of the Austrian Armed Forces with a focus on intercultural competence and languages for security purpose.
The AAF LI acts as a link to different international organizations within EU and partnering member states as well as it is part of the Bureau of International Language Cooperation as a NATO Partnership for Peace contributor. In these several roles and for a better customer satisfaction the AAF LI steadily redevelops its services, which includes development of digital solutions in several spheres. However, the institute itself mainly consists of teacher, translators and interpreters to serve the main goal of the institute, summarized in its motto: More Languages - more Security!
