Be an Ally Foundation

Be an Ally Foundation is a nonprofit initiative with its main program named "Girls in STEAM Academy" with a mission to reduce the representation gap of women and girls in STEAM fields. Our vision is to eliminate the gender stereotypes and structural barriers that discourage girls from pursuing and thriving in STEAM career paths. Our mission is to empower girls and young women through targeted educational programs, mentorship and networking, while working with relevant stakeholders to build more inclusive (school and work) environments. Since our launch, we have reached over 1,500 students, teachers, and parents through hands-on workshops, mentoring, and awareness actions, and built a national alumnae network of more than 250 young women. Our approach is rooted in participatory methods and intersectional awareness, ensuring our programs reflect the diverse needs of our beneficiaries across Cyprus. The Foundation is governed by a multidisciplinary board and managed by a small core team supported by a growing network of volunteers, facilitators, and advisors from academia, industry, and civil society. Guided by a team of experts in education, gender equality, and social innovation, Girls in STEAM Academy has become a leading voice in advancing inclusive STEAM education and youth empowerment in Cyprus, creating long-term impact both at the individual and systemic levels.
