The Competence Centre START 4.0

START 4.0 is one of the eight highly specialized Italian Competence Centres promoted by the former Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE, currently Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy - MIMIT) and focusing on Industry 4.0 enabling technologies, with a particular focus on security and optimization of the strategic infrastructures.

START 4.0 description

START 4.0 is an association led by the Italian National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR), involving more than 50 associates, including public entities (such as the Italian Institute of Technology and the Ligurian Port Authorities) and private companies, from large enterprises to SMEs, with a common, unifying agenda. The Centre has the mission of introducing Industry 4.0-enabling technologies for the optimization of flows and processes with a cross-cutting approach in five domains: energy, water, transport, manufacturing, ports.

START 4.0 training activities

The core activities of START 4.0 focus on transferring knowledge, skills, and funding through the expertise of its associates in multiple forms. The training activities are organised in two main categories:

  • Industry 4.0 training, cosisting of a wide catalogue of courses for basing, intermediate, and expert users, created according to high quality standards and suitable for a heterogeneous audience.
  • Highly specialised training, providing knowledge and skills to different targets, covering vertical and deep topics, completing the training catalogue also for companies, enabling them to train every employee, from the workers to the top managers.
