European IT Certification Institute (EITCI) governs the European IT Certification (EITC) framework with a purpose of certifying professional IT skills accordingly with corresponding curricula, including individual EITC certificates and comprehensive specialization attesting EITCA Academy certificates. EITCI implements skills certification in various fields of applied digital technologies adhering to the ISO/IEC 17024 international standard for bodies operating certification of personnel. Certificates are issued conditioned by successfully passing corresponding examination procedures and allow for validation by third parties in order to support documentation of participants' digital qualifications. Since 2008 EITCI has participated in implementing several ESF and ERDF projects, addressing among others the problem of digital gender gap by certifying IT skills among women, enhancing digital education quality in public schools by developing and certifying e-learning/didactics skills among teachers, as well establishing e-government skills certification based on the IDABC/ISA reference standard for the public administration interoperability systems in some of the EU countries.
