International Cooperation Centre, Lodz University of Technology

Lodz University of Technology (TUL) is a public university established in 1945. It ranks as the 5th best university of technology in Poland (Perspektywy 2022 University Ranking). It offers 65 engineering study programmes - bachelor and master - taught at 9 faculties for about 12 thousand students. Doctoral training is provided by the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (IDS) which offers multiple unique prospects of development for PhD students. TUL’s International Faculty of Engineering (IFE) – the innovative teaching and learning facility of the university with 30 years’ experience – provides education in study programmes taught in English and French for students of all nationalities.
TUL’s staff consists of over 1200 academics committed to providing high-quality STEM education with the use of innovative student-oriented teaching methods e.g., Project Based Learning, Design Thinking, Flipped Education and Tutoring.
Internationalization is of the key importance for TUL’s development strategy. The policy is coordinated by the International Cooperation Centre recognized with the “Leaders in University Management - LUMEN 2019” award for the first 2-year stage of its activity. The University’s cooperation network involves over 400 partnerships with institutions from all over the world committed to joint science, research and student exchange initiatives. The University is a member of many prestigious international organisations, including EUA (European University Association), ACEEU (Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities), CEEMAN (International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies), BUP (Baltic University Programme) and ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) – the Erasmus+ European University.
Every year about 1,000 foreign students study at TUL, both full-time and under exchange programmes. The intensive development of mobility schemes under the Erasmus+ Programme was acknowledged by the Polish Erasmus+ Agency, which awarded TUL the title of a “Mobility Friendly University”. TUL participates in numerous additional programmes and projects providing students with a valuable work and study experience abroad e.g., double diploma programmes under agreements with HEIs from France and Italy; IAESTE professional internships, mobilities within programmes of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), EEA Grants and etc.
TUL participates in numerous EU co-financed projects in the framework of Erasmus+, which aim is to increase quality of the mobility, graduate employability and innovation in higher education.
The University is recognized by World University Rankings including THE QS, US News and ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.
TUL is a holder of the prestigious European Commission-awarded ECTS Label Certificate, Diploma Supplement Label as well as the HR Excellence in Research title. The University implements the Gender Equality Plan.
